Originally born a wealthy prince, Siddhartha Gautama left it all behind to pursue the path  of truth, when he saw poverty, and illness beyond his walls.

 Born on 8 April 563 BC , a few days after his birth,
it was predicted by a wise old man that he would later become a great king or a saint that would change the world.

 Buddha taught his disciples 3  major tenet Not to be ignorant, hate others or get angry.

 Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment (bodhi) while meditating underneath a Fig tree. According to Buddhist texts, the Buddha meditated without moving from his seat for seven weeks (49 days) under this tree(the Bodhi tree at Mahabodhi temple).

 Bhuddha's teachings were spread y nonvoilent methods such as word of mouth or carving on prominent stone buildings, His followers saw him as a Teacher and not a god or avatar

 Buddha taught and traveled his entire life until the age of 80 when he passed away. hos final request of his followers was this: "all Component things in the world are changeable. they are not lasting work hard to gain your own salvation".
