Scientists have recently estimated that there are approximately 8.7 million species on Earth. They believe that 1-2 million of those species are animals. Here are some astonishing facts about animals.

Number 1. Mike the Headless Chicken.  also known as Miracle Mike, was a Wyandotte chicken that lived for 18 months after his head had been cut off. when his head, choped the bulk of the head, it missed the jugular vein, leaving one ear and most of the brain stem intact. And, the chicken was still able to balance on a perch and walk clumsily.

Number 2.  A snail can sleep for three years.
Conditions that drive snails to sleep for 3 years include winter and high temperatures such as summer. During winter, snails go into hibernation. They withdraw into their shells and form a mucous membrane around their shells to insulate themselves.  During summer or in drought and desert conditions, they aestivate. Aestivation is the process of going dormant during hot and dry periods.

Number 3.  THE BIGGEST ANIMAL EVER LIVED ON EARTH IS THE BLUE WHALE.

It is not the megalodon nor the ArgentinosaurusBlue whales grow up to 30 meters in length and can weigh over 180  tons  ,Argentinosaurus can be Longest but not the biggest with a length of 35 meters.
Elephant, Africa, African Elephant, Kenya, Tsavo, Trunk

Number 4. Elephants are the only animal that can't jump.

White Rhino, Drinking, Giants, Couple

Number 5. A rhinoceros' horn is made of hair.
The horns of most animals have a bony core covered by a thin sheath of keratin, the same substance as hair and nails. Rhino horns are unique, however, because they are composed entirely of keratin
Flying Dog, Wing, Tongue, Zoo

Number 6. Bats always turn left when leaving a cave.
cause bats generally move by sensing echoes and thus in order to get out there should be a system to avoid collisions.the one unique thing about bats is in the way they sense direction when leaving caves.

Number 7. Chocolate Is Poisonous to Dogs

Number 8. Pigs ARE the smartest, cleanest domestic animals known. SERIOUSLY

 - more so than cats and dogs, according to some experts. But pigs don't have sweat glands, so they roll around in the mud to stay cool. A sign of their cleverness came from experiments in the 1990s.
Pigs were trained to move a cursor on a video screen with their snouts and used the cursor to distinguish between scribbles they knew and those they were seeing for the first time.
They learned the task as quickly as chimpanzees.
Mayfly, Grass, Leaf, Insect, Macro

Number 9. Mayflies are the insects that only live for a day or two! Giant tortoises live for over 100 years.

Number 10. THE REAREST ANIMAL IN THE WORLD cyclops albino shark
the shark was not some unique species, it was an extremely rare and fascinating case of a shark featuring a congenital defect called cyclopia, which occurs in several animal species (including humans). out of every 3.5 trillion fishes in the world, only one single fish like this was ever found.
